POLICE have arrested a 21-year-old man after bins were set alight in a Broadfield underpass.
Officers were called to Broadwood Rise at 4.58am this morning (Friday) to reports of loud noises coming from the underpass below the A264 leading to Buchan Park.
When police arrived two bins were found to be alight.
Two men ran from the police and one man was arrested nearby.
The other man has not been arrested at this stage.
A 21-year-old man from Broadfield was arrested on suspicion of arson.
He has been released on police bail until Sunday, March 15.
Any witnesses are asked to call Sussex Police on 101.
