JOHN Gregory admits he expects former Watford winger Bobson Bawling to sign a Crawley Town contract by the weekend.
Bawling, an 18-year-old winger, has been on trial with the Reds and an ever-present in Gregory's squads for this summer's pre-season friendlies.
The Reds have already signed Dean Leacock, Lewis Young and Emmett O'Connor after impressive displays while on trial, and it seems Bawling will be next.
"When people that I respect in the game tell me to have a look at a player, then I've got to have a look at them. It costs you nothing and you could pick up a few gems," Gregory said.
"Against Brighton, Bobson played for down the right hand side and he's another one who we will probably sign before the weekend. He is another young kid who will come and give us numbers, he's got some good qualities.
"It's what I have to do; I have to stay within the budget. You can't always go out there and sign expensive players, players who are just going to sit on the bench and get vast amount of money for doing nothing."
